After a run of three cup games Blues return to BetVictor league action tomorrow at Parkside when they entertain Soham Town Rangers. Rangers have also been in cup FA Cup action recently with wins over Biggleswade United and Whitton United, they now face Cray Wanderers away in the same stage of the competition as Blues.
Rangers have made a promising start to the season, after early defeats to Maldon & Tiptree and Histon, results improved with a home win over Felixstowe & Walton and an excellent away win over Dereham Town. They currently sit in ninth place in the early season table with six points. Blues will have to be aware of striker Sam Mulready who is currently the leagues top scorer with five goals, Rangers also include in their squad keeper Josh Pope brother of Burnley and England custodian Nick Pope.
After a disappointing showing against a young Bowers & Pitsea Jim Cooper will be looking for a reaction from his squad tomorrow. A bright start to the season with some impressive performances finds Blues in the early play off places and into the second Qualifying round of the FA Cup. But against March Town last Saturday and Bowers in midweek they failed to match the intensity evident in earlier matches. Even at this stage of the season tomorrows game takes on the six pointer mantle with a win important to both teams. Blues fans will certainly be hoping for a repeat of last seasons 4-0 win.
