Grays are in great form having won 5 and drawn 2 of their 7 Ryman Premier games this season. This includes a convincing 4-0 victory against newly promoted Brentwood last time out on bank holiday Monday at Mill Field.
Leiston have also won 5 and drawn 2 of their 7 games. A draw against Suffolk rivals Needham Market allowed Grays to sneak to the top last Monday on goal difference. Leiston have won all 3 of their home games this season so will offer Grays a stern test at Victory Road. If the previous meetings in Suffolk are anything to go by then it will definitely be!
Grays first trip to Victory Road was a Ryman North encounter in December 2011, the game finished 2-2 with the Grays goals coming from Harry Agombar, who could feature this weekend. The other goal came from Anthony Ryan.
There have been a couple of meetings in the Ryman Premier and both have ended in heavy defeats for the Blues. In December 2013, Joao Carlos scored in a 4-1 defeat, while a late October game in 2014 provided Grays with an early Halloween horror show as they went down 3-0, plus the A12 was closed at Woodbridge!
Back to the present day and could Grays get their first win there? They beat Canvey last week so anything is possible, plus with the pace and goals of Carlos, Dumaka and a first Grays goal from Roman Michael-Percil means that them Blues can go to any ground with confidence.
Leiston are not without a potent attacking threat themselves, experienced John Sands has featured this season along with Christy Finch and Leon Otley-Gooch who have been in the goals so far this season. Also keep an eye out for Joe Jefford as the defender has popped up with a couple of goals this year!
As ever your support is welcome so if you can make it up to Suffolk give The Blues, who will be in their changed strip of green a cheer!
