A very Warm welcome to Steven Stuart, Rob Seaman and Stewart Goshawk as they join the Board of Directors

NEW CO-OPTED BOARD DIRECTORS

As the club prepares for an exciting new era, the Grays Athletic Board are pleased to announce three new additions to the club's Board of Directors as it looks to increase commercial activity, discover new funding opportunities, and oversee the restructure of the club’s current youth activities.

Joining the current Board of eight elected Directors, the club will be joined by three new co-opted Directors, Steven Stuart, Rob Seaman and Stewart Goshawk. Supporters will be familiar with all three new Directors as they are avid fans of the football club as well as already occupying existing roles within it.

As a Board, it is our responsibility to identify areas we feel we need additional support with and have set a precedent recently of acquiring Board members based on the needs of the club and the skillset required to meet those needs.

As such, Steven Stuart will join the Board to help support existing commercial activity alongside Colin Tillett and procure a new commercial team to drive commercial revenue into the football club. Steve has a long and established history in executive sales as well as being the founder of the club’s chosen charity, Friends of Essex & London Homeless.

Lifelong fan, Rob Seaman has been doing an incredible job managing the club’s communications of late and has been the spearhead for our efforts in galvanising support for our Ship Lane application. Robert is also the club’s Youth Chairman and has led the youth section to a very successful year where our structure is stronger than ever. As the club looks to bring our two women’s teams, our walking football section and adult Sunday teams into a reformed section alongside the youth, it’s vitally important we use Rob’s experience at Board level to ensure the transition is as smooth as possible.

Stewart Goshawk has an incredible history working in the charitable grant-making world and is the CEO of the Wembley Stadium Trust amongst other things and will be incredibly important in our fundraising and grant application support of fellow Directors David Barnes, and Glyn Jarvis. Stewart is also the club Press Officer and has done a fabulous job in producing quality content which is the envy of the Isthmian League.

The club will also be strengthening our Management Group which feeds into the main Board and have taken the first steps in doing so by adding Health and Safety Officer Mark Popham to the group to give the club more insight into matchday operations. More additions to this group will follow to build subject matter expertise in various areas, such as: media, hospitality, fan engagement, events, and communications.

Grays Athletic Chairman Lee Vehit spoke of his pleasure in welcoming Steven, Rob and Stewart onto the Board “As we plan our move into a new stadium, with a new impending manager and with a new Board of Directors to complement the fantastic people already serving our club, it gives me great pleasure in adding to them with three talented and passionate people who have the drive and ability to help push the club forward. Steven, Robert and Stewart are proper fans who have the club at heart and have already demonstrated they have great ideas and strategic vision that gives us an opportunity to look at different ways of bringing revenue into the club and pursue avenues that have previously been untouched.”

Vice Chairman Gavin Holland added “In line with the Board’s approach to identify talent and promote from within, we are proud to endorse Steven, Robert and Stewart who have worked tirelessly on our management groups and demonstrated their value to the club on endless occasions. Our approach to this upcoming season is one of hard work and promise and see these appointments as being in line with our visions for the club which are all about progress and sustainability. "
